Hunting at Eagle Rock Ranch

WE WILL HAVE LANDOWNER PREFERENCE VOUCHERS/TAGS AVAILABLE FOR 2013. Call to get details

2013 Big Game - License Application Deadline was APRIL 2, 2013. So get your Draw Applications for GMU 15 submitted before that date. If you missed the April deadline, and you're still interested in hunting GMU 15 there are over-the-counter tags available for 2nd & 3rd rifle seasons. Check the DOW website for details http://wildlife.state.co.us/Hunting/SeasonDatesAndFees/Pages/SeasonDatesandFees.aspx

Eagle Rock Ranch is an outstanding location for those Elk and Deer hunters who wish to hunt private land or have the most accessible location to the Green Ridge area. The topography around the ranch runs from 8,100 to over 10,000 feet in elevation. The Ranch is bordered on three sides by the Routt National Forest (GMU 15) and the surrounding Wheeler Basin. With 750 acres of private lands which contain wooded timber, grasslands, ample vegetation and “wildlife friendly” fences this area can be an exceptionally productive area.

We offer non-guided "trespass hunting" in a unique setting, comfortable, warm, cabin rentals, and the option of some excellent fly fishing during down times.

We also have cabins available to hunters who will be hunting elsewhere on public or private lands in the Yampa area and want a central location, with less driving. However, we reserve our 750 acres of private land for the exclusive use of our own hunters.

Upper Cabin # 6 – is specifically setup to accommodate our Bow and Rifle hunters. This cabin is located at higher elevation and separate from the main ranch area. Because the upper portion of the Ranch is bordered on three sides by Pubic Forest Service lands, this cabin allows hunters quick access to some of the most productive areas in UNIT 15 (GMU 15), http://wildlife.state.co.us/maps/Pages/Maps.aspx with minimum travel either by ATV or foot, better access to our private land or the surrounding forest service means more time to hunt.

If you are interested in hunting at Eagle Rock Ranch send us an e-mail. We will provide you with more details about hunting private lands at our Ranch or we can direct you the best outfitters in the business.

Our private hunting area allows you to select who you want to share time with. We don’t like to mix groups. You can assemble your own group of hunters. Each season, we will allow a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 hunters private access to our cabin and 744 acres of private property. The most preferred lodging for hunters is the Upper Cabin # 6 - all thought we can accommodate you at any of the other cabin if they are available.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife offers a "TIP" sheet for hunting GMU 15. This Ranch is located in the heavist concentrated area for both Deer and Elk migration in Unit 15. http://wildlife.state.co.us/Hunting/ElkHuntingUniversity/3/Pages/TipsforHuntingColoradoElk.aspx

The 2013 prices are now set. Our automated resevation system is not capable of handlling all the complexities of availble options when booking hunts. We perfer to discuss availability and details for Bow & Rifle Hunter's by phone so call for Pat. We also have hunter's who are looking to share seasons and have left specific information with Pat if you are interested.Late Season left-over tags are usually available for GMU 15.
